Here’s our tip:  It really depends on the house and some other factors; are there pets in the home, kids and lifestyle.  Bagniefski recommends inspecting your furnace filter every month, to look for dust and dirt accumulation on the filter.  If it looks dirty, change it.  But, make a habit of checking it monthly!
